Dr. Bahne Stechmann is the Head of Operations & Scientific Strategy at EU-OPENSCREEN. He holds a MSc degree in biochemistry from the Martin-Luther-University in Halle, Germany, a PhD from the Université Paris XI, France, and an Executive MBA in the Management of Research Infrastructures from the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy. He began working for EU-OPENSCREEN, the European Research Infrastructure initiative for chemical biology and early drug discovery, as the Scientific Manager in 2010. At EU-OPENSCREEN, Bahne is responsible for the scientific strategy, partner institution and member & candidate country relations, international collaborations and he works on various EU projects. He co-organised several international outreach and partnering symposia for RI-VIS focussing on Africa, Latin America, Australia and Russia.
EU-OPENSCREEN's affiliated high-throughput compound screening and chemistry partner sites are leading experts in the field of chemical biology and early drug discovery in Europe. We support scientists from academia and industry from around the world in the development of novel chemical probes and therapeutic lead compounds.
