Corrado Perna is a Senior Policy Officer from the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics. He played a leading role in promoting the Italy’s founding involvement in the establishment of the XXI century global large scale research Astrophysics facilities such as SKA, CTA and EELT as part of wider national engagement strategies towards the global cutting-edge initiatives for the advancement of science.
As scientific delegate of the Italian Government to the ongoing intergovernmental negotiation to establish the CTA Observatory in ERIC legal form, he is promoting a strategy for a plenty involvement of no-EU members into the ERIC to demonstrate the European Research Area capability to operate as a global hub for science.
Physicist, science policy skilled, he leaded WPs of several EC FPs funded projects and directed national programs to maximize the socio-economic impact of the national investments on Astrophysics.
