Eudy Mabuza
Embassy of South Africa, Brussels Senior Science and Innovation Representative
Ms Mabuza has seventeen and a half years of progressive experience in the Public
Sector engaging and mediating with international agencies in an effort to increase bilateral
and donor relations towards the South African Science System. She has been dealing with a
wide range of policy, issues; long-term development planning, as well as specific innovative
public capacity development issues.
She is currently serving as a Minister Counsellor: Science and Innovation at the Embassy of the
The Republic of South Africa in Brussels, where she is seconded by the Department of Science and
Innovation. Previously, she was the Chief of Staff (Head of Cabinet) to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. She also served as a Minister Counsellor in Tokyo, Japan, where she was able to leverage funding for research collaboration for the following major research projects: Infectious Disease Early Warning System (iDEWS), Development of New Ammonia Synthesis using Renewable Energy and Hydrogen under the SATREPS framework. Furthermore, Ms Mabuza was instrumental in the establishment of the A-JCORE platform.
