Gregor is managing the development of an environmental RI in South Africa called EFTEON (Expanded Freshwater and Terrestrial Environmental Observation Network) that is funded through the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) South African Research Infrastructure Roadmap (SARIR) Program and hosted in SAEON.
EFTEON is in the early stages of rolling out six distributed landscape-scale Infrastructure sites, with a thematic focus integrating processes relating to biogeochemistry, climate, hydrology, biodiversity, and social-ecological systems.
Gregor completed his Ph.D. in biogeochemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz.
