Speech topic: Experiences from MTU Blackrock Castle ObservatoryMy research interests lie in (i) in using astronomy to communicate STEM on a global scale and (ii) high time resolution astrophysics. I co-founded an observatory and science centre at Blackrock Castle in Cork, Ireland (www.bco.ie) and our mission is to enthuse young and old about the value and importance of STEM through the medium of astronomy and space. I'm very interested in optimising the science performance of cubesats using low-power on-board computing methodologies. As Head of Research at Munster Technological University I work with researchers, research managers and academic staff to drive the research agenda of the University. This takes place across all disciplines.
